All-season activitiesin the Gasteinertal

Flying Waters

For every weather and every season

The Gasteinertal has always been a popular holiday destination. While people used to visit the valley in summer and for cure treatments, winter has become the dominant season when it comes to the number of visitors. But also in the months between the seasons the Gasteinertal has eventful offers up its sleeve. No matter if it snows or the sun shines, you can plan diverse activities.

Archery

Fun for the whole family, no matter if old or young: Three hunting bow parcours in the Gasteinertal put your targeting abilities to the test. A short instruction before you start will explain the right handling of the sports gear which can be borrowed on site.

Tennis

Playing tennis is independent of the season. On 19 outdoor courts for the summer months or - in any weather - on four indoor courts, tennis players can let off steam in Gastein.

Paragliding

For a spectacular flight over the Gasteinertal you only have to pay attention to the weather. The season is irrelevant, no matter if it is winter, summer, spring or autumn. A tandem jump with a certified teacher in one of the flying schools let you experience the dream of flying.

Flying Waters - the waterfall from above

Almost like flying is a ride with the Flying Fox. The rope slide leads right across the village of Bad Gastein. Below the rushing waterfall, in front of you the Gasteinertal: this adrenaline-packed action adventure is possible in all seasons.

Alpentherme Bad Hofgastein

One of the reasons for a holiday in Bad Hofgastein: The Alpentherme. Mainly in autumn and in winter the guests flock to the warm halls, but also in sunshine the thermal bath is an attractive destination: Then you can just relax and sunbathe in the outdoor area at the thermal lakes and enjoy the view of the mountain panorama.

Gastein’s museums

Drop by the exciting history of the Gasteinertal and visit its witnesses - the museums of Gastein. Learn more on Gastein’s hot springs and their discover in the Gastein Museum in Bad Gastein. There is also an exhibition on the customs of the valley. Those who are interested in geology have a look at the Haus der Kristalle (House of Crystals), a private museum with uncountable precious stones which were collected in the whole valley. This museum can be found in the Grießgasse in Bad Hofgastein.
You can also learn more about mining in the Gasteinertal. The Montanmuseum Altböckstein tells you about the history of mining and includes an open air museum as a core element. Visit the Salzstadl, an exhibition about the gold mine which has been used since the 14th century as well as a mining settlement from 1741 with a knave church.
The Hofmuseum Hinterschneeberg also looks forward to visitors. The museum about mountain farming shows farm tools from past times.
