Winter hiking - winter fun without skis
Gastein Valley’s beautiful surroundings and snowy landscape invite you to enjoy a winter hike. Discover the impressive backdrop of the Tauern Mountains and relax on winter’s softer side. A marvellous winter hiking path starting in Bad Hofgastein is, for example, the route along the Gasteiner Ache. Gurgling water, white frost and a steel-blue sky will accompany you on your whole way.
Tobogganing in Gastein
Velocity can not only be found on the slopes but also on the tobogganing runs of Gastein. Two natural toboggan runs will allow rapid fun during your holidays - the natural toboggan run Aeroplan on the Schlossalm (3.3 km) and the natural toboggan run Bellevue Alm (2.5 km). And those who haven’t powered out thoroughly during the day or fancy an outing in the evening can also go tobogganing at night on the flood-lit run.
Ice-skating
Ice-skating - a childhood fun almost forgotten. Discover the old feeling again, maybe together with your children, and visit the Eisarena Bad Hofgastein not far from the Impuls Hotel Tirol. Here you will find enough space to turn your laps on the ice or to practise ice-skating with your kids. Or you try out the local sport Bavarian curling.
Horse-drawn sleigh rides in the white landscape
Take a ride in a horse-drawn sleigh through the snowy Hohe Tauern National Park, accompanied by the chimes of sleigh bells. Or take an almost silent trip on snowshoes - the only sound will be the crunching of snow under your feet.
